Learn the foundational skills of wheel throwing, including wedging, centering, and pulling up the clay. Explore your artistic side as you design and create various forms such as bowls, mugs, and vases. Understand the process of glazing your pieces and preparing them for the kiln to achieve beautiful, finished ceramics. Make things for yourself or gifts for your friends. Clay-building demonstrations and specialized slips will enhance your work, while horsehair, feathers, copper, and glass can be incorporated for unique effects. Participants must have prior experience and be 18 years or older. The class is limited to ten students. One 25 lb. bag of clay and open studio time are included.
