Glazing 101 Workshop – Dana Field
$25.00
Bring a bisqued pot or two, or just watch and learn! Dana Field will teach this beginner-level overview, perfect for studio pass users who haven’t had a recent class at the WAC. Learn about our different kinds of glazes at the WAC and important factors in applying glaze to avoid common glaze flaws like drips, chips, bald spots, pinholes, crawling and overflows that could damage the kiln. We will demonstrate how to pour and dip high-fire glaze for bowls and mugs, and show examples of the good, the bad, & the ugly. We’ll touch lightly on how to experiment safely with layering multiple glazes and with choosing a glaze that works well for surface texture. There will be time for Q&A and coaching as you glaze the pieces you brought.
